\u2026Urges Govt to nurture, protect them as Nigeria\u2019s future leaders<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As children celebrated their day, Tuesday May 27, 2025 in Nigeria, a South West Chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, (NNPP), Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo <\/strong> <\/em>felicitated with them, calling on the governments to be committed to nurturing and protecting them as the country\u2019s future leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Children\u2019s Day is usually marked on the 27th of May in Nigeria. It\u2019s an international holiday that was first established in the country in 1964. The date it is celebrated varies between different countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The theme of this year\u2019s Children Day is \u201cStand Up, Speak Up: Building a Bullying-Free Generation\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ajadi in a statement to celebrate the children on Tuesday, copies of which were made available to newsmen described the children as the custodians of tomorrow\u2019s promise, innovation, and leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He urged government to prioritise commitment to safeguard every Nigerian child, protect his rights, and nurture his dreams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ajadi advocated a culture where every child feels safe, respected, and heard, both in physical spaces and digital communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said in tune with the theme of this year\u2019s celebration, Nigerian children should be given voice to speak out, saying violence, bullying, and neglect of children is not in tune with modern ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NNPP leader urged both Federal and State governments to ensure that Nigerian children are given qualitative education to prepare them for their  future roles in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He called on Nigeria to learn from what is happening in Senegal where a 45 years old Bassirou Diomaye Faye is the current President and is providing quality governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur youths if well prepared can do same and more if they are given the chance to participate in governance at young ages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I rejoice with our children as they celebrate their day. We cherish you as the custodians of our future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI implore governments to  show commitment to safeguarding every Nigerian child, protect their rights, and nurture their dreams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTo parents, teachers and other guardians of children, the era of bullying is gone. Give children moral and academic education and help in preparing them for the future\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
